Startop

Startop takes its namesake from Startop’s End, a hamlet, farm, nature reserve and reservoir - one of four that makes up ‘Tring Reserviors’, alongside Marsworth, Tringford and Wilstone. The area is believed to have expanded from Startop Farm, which in turn was likely named after its owners, members of the Startop family. Are your brewery shop and tours dog friendly?

We're pleased to confirm that our on site brewery shop is dog friendly. Due to the chemicals used in the cleaning of our brewhouse flooring, and the nature of the brewhouse as food-production environment, the brewhouse (where Tring Brewery tours are conducted) cannot accommodate dogs or other animals. If you require an assistance dog and are looking to learn more about the brewery, please do get in contact on 01442 890721 or email [email protected]. Read more >

Why don’t you publish a list of pubs stocking your beer?

There are many pubs that stock our beer on a permanent basis, but on an hour by hour basis we don’t know if the beer is flowing from the pumps. We’d hate to point you to a pub only for you to find the beer has either just run out or is a few hours away from going back on. There are also many pubs out there who take our beer on rotation alongside other Read more >

Can you reuse any of the containers?

Regrettably, our conventional 1L/2L/3L containers are not reusable as they are not durable enough to withstand high temperature container sterilisation, though they (along with our 5L metal mini-kegs) can be recycled at home or made into clothing, more packaging and even cars. When disposing of 18 and 36 pint polys, please separate the plastic inner from the cardboard outer. We are excited to stock growlers, which are stainless steel refillable beer containers, available in one Read more >
