4.4% ABV Rich, roasty and toasty. (May)
Tasting notes
Rich notes are present and able in this Extra Special Bitter. Warming flavours of molasses and roasted malts are first on the scene, thanks to the Black Malt, followed by a respectable bitterness attained from premium British hops.
May monthly special – brewed in support of Berkhamsted and District Community First Responders, Tring Brewery’s charity of choice for 2026.
Food Pairing
Rich and toasty notes from the beer will match a dream with steak. When meat is grilled, the Maillard reaction teases out deep, roasted flavours as the colour of the food deepens. To garnish, we recommend in-season Jersey Royal potatoes – again, sweet and earthy notes will play well with the ale. As a traditional British style, we believe that this Extra Special Bitter, matched with British beef and potatoes, is a perfect embodiment of the much-shared wisdom ‘what grows together, goes together’.
Each of our 2026 food pairings have been curated and written by our accredited in-house Beer Sommelier.
