4.3% ABV A thrilling incantation of an Extra Special Bitter. (October)
Tasting notes
A direct currant of malty goodness is administered upfront. Hop bitterness courses through a robust grain bill featuring rich Black Malt. This beer is a bold incantation of an Extra Special Bitter.
October monthly special – brewed in support of Berkhamsted and District Community First Responders, Tring Brewery’s charity of choice for 2026.
Food Pairing
It is said that, before anything else, the success of a beer and food matching hinges on intensity. With this, a big beer commands a hearty plate. We’ve gone for a national staple in the roast dinner as both pairing components – the beer and the food – are rich and complex. For the meat we’ve chosen beef, accompanied by in-season potatoes, parsnips and cauliflower (in the form of cauli-cheese). When meat is cooked, the Maillard reaction teases out deep, roasty flavours as the colour of the food deepens. This roasty profile can likewise be found in the beer, while the malt bill’s lighter notes, such as brioche and honey, will complement the seasonal vegetables. Time to plate up!
Each of our 2026 food pairings have been curated and written by our accredited in-house Beer Sommelier.
